Labour Candidate Pays Tribute for Public Service

Tuesday 1 April 2014

Last night’s final meeting of Sutton Council before local elections are held in May 2014 paid tribute to the contributions made to the borough by retiring Councillors. Emily Brothers, Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Sutton and Cheam and Council Candidate for Sutton Central Ward, said:

“I’m in no doubt that a number of retiring Councillors have made very significant contributions to improving the lives of people in Sutton over many years, despite our political differences.

“Councillor Graham Tope’s 40 years service and retiring Mayor, Sean Brennan, have both demonstrated that there is more good in politics than wrong. I thank them for their efforts and commitment.”
